Bio
Sebastian Erdmann was born in Argentina in 1985. Fascinated by music and sound, he took his first piano lessons at age 7. From then on he embarked on a journey that led him to the path of being a musician, improviser, performer, and composer. After playing in several underground rock bands, executing a variety of instruments (guitar, bass, drums, keyboards) and composing songs, he studied music theory and audiopercetive under the renowed argentinean pedagogue María del Cármen Aguilar. He also took on cello lessons, eventually receiving a classic cello training with Mtro. Marcelo Bru (Buenos Aires Philarmonic´s soloist). Always trying to combine the technical with the open minded attitude of improvisation, he was part of an experimental improvised string quintet (Matalobo), he played improvised music with several musicians in a wide array of situations (art exhibitions, screening of films, pieces of theater), and composed and recorded tracks for video exhibitions and other multimedia projects.
Based since 2018 in Berlin, he has studied Sound Design at the Wave Akademie für Digitale Medien. Always a movies fan, since he got his degree, he has worked in post production for films, combining the attention to detail and technical skills with the creativity and innovation of his artistic work and his team oriented workflow.
The more experimental side of Sebastian Erdmann is expresed on the electronic music compositions, made with modular synthesizers and digital media. As well as composing for films, he is part of a electronic experimental duo, "Arura", and regulary plays and records in Berlin.
